Glitz, glamour and maybe some gambling might be on the agenda for many, but we were very much in business mode. That said, with the event being held at the Mandalay Bay conference center, we definitely felt a bit of the authentic Vegas vibe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thousands of retailers attend Shoptalk Spring. It\u2019s impossible to meet them all, of course, and given imagino\u2019s strengths, we were tightly focused on meeting enterprise scale retailers. Multi-billion-dollar companies with multi-millions of customers, representing, in theory, the cutting edge of customer marketing and engagement. And yet\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Huge scale can mean big issues<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The story is the same as my colleagues around the world find whenever they speak to retailers: <\/span><b>their marketing team finds it difficult to leverage the company\u2019s data to engage customers.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As you\u2019d expect, there\u2019s no shortage of technology in place within such established and mature retail organizations. <\/span><b>May have already implemented both a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and a <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/imagino.com\/us\/our-solutions\/customer-engagement-platform\/\"><b>Customer Engagement Platform (CEP)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, though not always from the same vendor. The relative performance of these two platforms is often inconsistent, creating issues. Poor performance in either one inevitably weakens the performance of the other.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Compounding the issue, the <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/imagino.com\/us\/our-solutions\/elevate-cdp\/\"><b>CDP approach<\/b><\/a><b> is increasingly seen as dated<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8211; a bygone of an earlier technological age. Switching to a new approach can, however, seem like a risk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Shoptalk highlighted a change in sentiment.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> While an organization\u2019s data and IT team can often find itself in conflict with the marketing operation, there\u2019s an awareness from the former that they need to be providing data to marketing colleagues that can be trusted, and ensuring that it can be put to use in an agile way. <\/span><b>Previous approaches aren\u2019t fit for purpose.<\/b><\/p>\n                            <\/div>\r\n                                            <\/div>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n                \r\n                    <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/section><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"page-text mx-auto \">\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><section id=\"text-section-6a2fc20875dbf\" class=\"simple-text-section section-padding \">\r\n    <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"simple-text-container\">\r\n\r\n                            <div class=\"row-item\">\r\n                    <div class=\"item\">\r\n                                                                            <div class=\"item__content js-animate animate__fadeInUpSmall\">\r\n                                <h2><strong>The lightbulb moment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Despite the maturity of these retailers, there\u2019s often a lack of awareness that a radical new approach exists.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> When introducing imagino\u2019s approach to retailers, it\u2019s interesting to see when the \u2018lightbulb moment\u2019 arrives (and there always is one).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For some, the mere mention of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/imagino.com\/us\/resource\/the-rise-of-zero-copy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018zero copy\u2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> piques their interest, prompting an almost palpable sense of relief. For others, a deeper dive into how we can help them activate data from any source, wherever it is, entices them to dig further. Before long, their mental cogs are whirring with the possibilities this creates, and the new use cases it unlocks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Customer data previously unused or inaccessible can be immediately put to work. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To this point, if a retailer already holds data tables in Snowflake or Microsoft, the timeline to showing the benefits of imagino can be mere days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Nothing beats face-to-face<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The technology industry can often be its own worst enemy. Tech speak, jargon, conflicting messages, and everyone claiming to have found the solution. <\/span><b>For customers it can be difficult to distil the fact from the marketing fiction.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Show, tell, demonstrate, and prove is our mantra. Doing so face-to-face at an event like Shoptalk Spring is an effective way to do so at scale.
